PHP 7

We have been using PHP 7 internally for almost a year now. During that time we also tested HHVM for any performance gains in order to evaluate our next steps. We are now confident that PHP 7 will be the standard engine in our platform by mid 2017, the option will be available in your cPanel to enable it by the end of January 2017 for testing purposes.

As always we will do a full compatibility check on all frameworks you are currently running and will notify you of any issues, we will still be providing the ability to use an earlier version of PHP for apps that are not compatible with the latest version of PHP.

Due to negligible differences between HHVM and PHP 7 at this time we are not planning on adding it to our shared hosting servers.

Software Recomendations

The last 7 years we have been asked numerous times from our customers for recommendations on software and tools for various tasks, till now we have been providing either our partner list or individual recommendations.

We are now working on and expect to have it finished before the end of 2016 on a list that will provide the tools we use or recommend that will be accessible over in our portal. The idea is to populate and groom that list with all the tools that you would find useful in your day to day work with your websites.

Discontinuation of the Groupware Storage Service

This service has lasted for less than a full year, it immediatelly was obvious that our customers needed a lot more storage in lower prices, for this reason we moved all customers to our Cloud Backup service and deprecated Groupware Storage. All features available in this service have been available to our Cloud Backup Service since day one.
